Welcome to Honor Flight South Alabama...

Honor Flight South Alabama (HFSA) is a non-profit program established to recognize and honor the tremendous service and sacrifices of America’s “Greatest Generation,” our World War II (WWII) Veterans. HFSA will fly these American heroes to Washington, DC, to visit and reflect at their memorial. The WW II Memorial was not dedicated until April 2004, nearly 60 years after the end of the war; therefore, there are MANY Veterans who have not had the opportunity or the resources to see their country’s tribute to their bravery.

With most in their 80s, we are losing WW II veterans every day, so our mission is urgent. Many WWII Veterans have financial or medical challenges in making a trip to the nation’s capitol. HFSA removes any obstacles by providing the following:

  • a charter plane fully staffed with medical professionals and equipment
  • volunteer “Guardians” to accompany and assist each Veteran
  • every WWII Veteran travels absolutely free

Honor Flight South Alabama seeks public and private donations to make this most worthy mission possible.
